To protect the environment in the Eastern Region, AlAhsa Municipality, in collaboration with Green Vision Environmental Services Co., organized an initiative to plant Mangrove Seedlings in the AlUqair Area in AlAhsa Governorate.
The initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 – Saudi Green Initiative goals, aiming to plant over 100 million mangrove trees for environmental and economic benefits. Mangroves play a crucial role in improving air quality and protecting coastlines by
absorbing carbon from the air and storing it in their soil for decades. They can sequester more carbon for longer than land-based trees and store ten times more carbon than other forests, contributing significantly to environmental balance and biodiversity enhancement.
